The Navajo Department of Criminal Investigation is tasked daily to provide quality criminal investigation services to the people of the Navajo Nation. The Department of Criminal Investigation recognizes the need for change in its Criminal Investigation philosophy and the application of modernized techniques. The Strategic Plan 2011 shall afford clear descriptions and rationales for changing the department’s philosophy and improving the quality of service.

The Department is dedicated and committed to protect life and property and to ensure the prompt investigations of all suspected criminal violations of the Federal, State and Tribal laws. Recognize individual constitutional rights and parameters of all citizens.
